NEWS OF THE DAY
Progress is progress. Which is another way of saying there is a set of pitcher projections for paid subscribers.
A caveat. These are mostly mechanical projections that apply my formulas to players based on their past history, their ages, and some of the batted ball stuff that helps us separate true talent from luck.
Missing, for the time being, are pitchers who have odd histories or didn’t pitch last year. They take a lot of hands-on work and I wanted to get the general stuff out sooner. In the days of the printed Guide, the projections in the magazine covered only players who had a Big Price, which was a way of handling all the detail-work that goes into making a complete set. My next step will be to add in projections for the priced players and pitchers who don’t have them today, that’s by next week.
Paid subscribers can find the link to the Hitter and Pitcher pages in the paywall area, after the Rotoman signature below.
If you see any projections that look screwy, feel free to let me know. I just found Hunter Brown in there with 10 wins in 10 starts and microscopic ERA. Wishful thinking, he’s a keeper of mine, but exactly the sort of thing that happens with players with limited track records. I’ll be stamping out bugs as fast as I can in order to get these guesses perfect.
Hunter Brown knows how to hold the baseball
